Another classic masse shot, where the cue ball starts at the 2nd diamond, goes up past the side pocket, then makes a sharp U-turn to clip in the hanger in the side pocket. Most guys would shoot this with their shin on the rail so they can bridge on their leg. This version is for those not-so-tall people who aren't comfortable doing that. Learn how! |

Jimmy Reid's Sneaky Shot Plus Draw
This is one of Mike Massey's first shots he pulled out for ESPN Trick Shot Magic back in 2000. It's a combination of two shots, Jimmy Reid's Sneaky shot where the ball frozen to the cue ball is forced through a blocker ball into the corner pocket, and a collision draw shot where the cue ball then draws back to make the hanger in the side. On this shot, I shoot the cue ball off the point of the side pocket, going another two rails and pocketing a ball in the corner. On Kimura's video, he shoots two cue balls back to back so you see a mirror image of the shot at the same time. I'm not that good yet. Learn how! |

Here's a more advanced version of a simple follow shot. After pocketing a ball in the side, the cue ball caroms off of the cushion on the other side of the side pocket, arcs around the blocking ball, and eventually makes the hanging ball in the corner. The easier version is to do it without the blocking ball. Learn how! |

If you're stretched for a long draw shot, see if it's not easier to hit a masse shot from the other side of the table. On this shot, I masse the cue ball towards me, pocketing a ball in the corner pocket I'm standing behind, and the cue ball masses across the table to pocket a hanger in the far corner. Obviously, you could use this for position as well. Learn how! |
