Rebound Masse

The cue ball rebounds off an object ball frozen to the short rail, masses around the wall and pockets the combo in the side. You don't even need the helper ball; heck, I probably would have scratched in the side if they weren't there. I first saw this shot attempted by Stefano Pelinga on ESPN Trick Shot Magic 2002.  Learn how!

Rebound Jump Follow

The cue ball rebounds off an object ball frozen to the long rail on the far side, jumps backwards over the "bridge", and then curves around the 6 ball wall with follow to pocket the hanger in the near right corner. This is another shot of Stefano Pelinga's that he tried to show the world on ESPN Trick Shot Magic 2001 with his last shot. Learn how!

Pelinga's Response

So if it's not a shot I saw Pelinga do first, it's one that was invented by Mike Massey that ended up being named after him. On this shot, I shoot the first object ball out of the way, the cue ball follows into the cushion, bounces around the blocker ball, and follows back down table to pocket the hanger. Massey invented this shot for the ESPN Trick Shot Magic 2000. Learn how!

Bend It Like Beckham

Another Mike Massey invention he calls the Koufax curve. I'm not much of a baseball fan so I call it Bend It Like Beckham. The cue ball clears out the first object ball, bounces out around the wall of balls, then dips back for the hanger in the far corner. Here, I have the wall set up on the second diamond. On faster cloth, it's more impressive to move the wall back one diamond and add a couple balls to it. Learn how!

Tim's Twister

Finally, one of my inventions. OK, perhaps my only invention, that Al Relf christened Tim's Twister. The three balls in the cluster are all frozen together, with two of them (the cue ball included) frozen to the rail. One of the object balls pockets in the near corner, one in the opposite corner, while the cue ball runs three rails to catch the hanger in the far corner. Try it, you'll like it. Learn how!
