Side Point 4 Railer
The set up for this shot is incredibly simple, as you can see. Place a hanging ball in the corner pocket and the cue ball in the middle of the table, more or less.
I prefer the cue ball to be between the points of the side pocket, away from the hanging ball. |

The key to getting this shot is finding out where to aim. If it's not obvious, I hit the side pocket point that's on the opposite side to where the object ball is. I like to start with the cue ball directly out from that side pocket point. I use a little bit of draw also with running english, in this case it's right hand english. I aim directly at the point and make adjustments from there. If it's running long, which it tends to do, I move the cue ball just slightly closer to the center of the table, keeping it on the long centerline. Hit this one harder than the 2 railer, and you don't need to use draw, just lots of right. |
